Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

I LOVE Bulgogi...have you ever been to those restraunts that serve it with picked veggies on the side? it is such a nice mixture of charred beefy goodness and crunchy tart veggies! I pulled from that experience to make my own at home!

I served mine as as Bulgogi bowl with brown rice and pickled veggies! I served this to some friends and they really enjoyed this as well!

Time 50 min total  Active time 20 Containers: 1 red 1 orange

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pear, grated
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Siracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated peeled ginger

1-1/2 lb flank steak, chicken breast or thighs sliced ( you can also use any large roast for grilling and have the butcher slice it thinly for you, this is what I did)

*Green Onions (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Combine pear, garlic, soy sauce, siracha, ginger, honey and sesame oil in a bowl ( reserve a little sauce for drizzing over your bowl) whisk to combine and add raw sliced chicken or beef to marinade for 30 minutes on the counter.

Grill strips for about 3- 4 minutes until the outside is crispy take care to not over cook. You may also heat some olive oil in a pan over medium high heat and saute till done. Remove from grill and top with green onions.

This dish is very nice served with brown rice and shredded carrots soaked in rice vinegar! ENJOY
