Strawberry Sauce

I love flavored yogurts, however so many times they come with unnatural flavorings and a crap load of sugar. Try this Strawberry sauce that can be used to flavor Plain or vanilla yogurt.  Change up the fruit to blueberries, mixed berries, or mangoes.  Whatever floats your boat there are no rules here.

Ingredients

  • 1 16oz Bag Frozen strawberries ( or fruit of choice use fresh when in season)
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions

Place Strawberries or desired fruit and maple syrup into sauce pan. Simmer on medium until  fruit is warmed though and soft, let cool. Add a pinch of salt and vanilla transfer sauce to a blender and blend till smooth. This makes a good size batch, store in fridge up to 10 days. freezes well.

This sauce can also be used on pancakes, waffles or even a topping on frozen yogurt. The kids will love it.
